Belgian citizen; the shooting took place on August 20, the first day the Belgian military launched an Afghan evacuation operation.

  Because Jahanhir was hit by a rubber bullet in the jaw, he was unable to speak normally. His brother (non-Belgian citizen) reported the incident on his behalf, and showed the picture and video of Jahanhir’s treatment in the hospital to the Morning Post. His brother said that on the afternoon of August 20, Kabul time, he accompanied Jahan Shir in line at the north gate of Kabul Airport, and the US soldiers guarding the gate ordered everyone to squat down in front of the barbed wire.

  At this time, a Belgian soldier came to the north gate and asked if there were any Belgian citizens at the scene. After Jahanhir responded, the Belgian soldier told him that he could get up and walk to the door. He did not want a US soldier to suddenly shoot Jahanhir and fire. The rubber bullet hit Jahanhir.
