The plan to introduce the internal security app has been on the map since May, but with last week's school attack at Källebergsskolan, it has become highly topical.

- It is terrible and it comes very close to one when there are colleagues of one and it is a school in Eslöv, says Susanne Svensson, principal at Norrevångsskolan.

During the day, all staff at Norrevångsskolan will receive a review of the security app and the various options that you can choose in the event of an alarm.

- You can choose if it is an escape, fire alarm or if it is violence and threats and so on.

It will probably be the biggest change that we will reach each other more easily if things happen, says Susanne Svensson.

In the event of an alarm, teachers can also indicate where they are and where a potential perpetrator is.

New alarm for accommodation

Accommodation means that students and staff lock themselves in rooms or halls and hide.

- After the school attack in Trollhättan, we have developed measures gradually such as crisis plans and cameras.

And the app is part of that work, says Pelle Jansson, deputy principal at Norrevångsskolan.

During the knife attack at Källebergsskolan, the fire alarm went off, which usually means that students must be evacuated from the classroom.

In this case, documents from the Swedish Work Environment Authority showed that it was the perpetrator himself who set off the fire alarm.

- There we have an advantage with this app that we use, that we can go with information and alarms about what it is.

As soon as we become aware that it is not a fire but an accommodation, we can inform this in no time at all, says Pelle Jansson.
