Additional mutation of the delta variant found in Västmanland

The region is now investigating more possible infections.

- We have three people with connections to other cases where sampling has taken place and where we expect additional analysis results to see that it is that variant.

The additional mutation has previously been traceable in Uppsala County.

So far, researchers know very little about it.

- It is quite uncertain if it is more contagious, but there are suspicions about it, says Jan Smedjegård, infection control doctor at Region Västmanland.
