　　On August 23, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Moon Mountain of Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm in Hebei Province to observe the natural landscape of the forest farm, listen to the introduction of Hebei's overall promotion of the management of landscape, forest, lake, grass and sand system and forest farm management and protection, and visit the forest rangers.

Later, Xi Jinping came to Shanghai Memorial Forest to observe the growth of the trees on the spot, and to understand the forest farm's promotion of the Saihanba spirit and the promotion of high-quality development.

　　Trees are the most common things in Saihanba, and they were once the rarest things.

Historically, it was once a famous natural garden with dense forests.

However, under the attack of encirclement and reclamation and continuous mountain fires, the "beautiful Gaoling" was reduced to a vast wilderness in the early days of liberation.

　　In 1962, in order to curb the situation of "wind and sand pressing on Beijing", the state established the Saihanba mechanical forest farm.

369 young people from 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country came to Saihanba.

Their average age is less than 24 years old.

　　In the hearts of Saihanba people, planting trees is a rock-solid mission regardless of wind and rain.

In the spring of 1964, the forestry staff gathered in the horseshoe pit surrounded by mountains on three sides and worked for 3 days. They planted 516 acres of wasteland with their carefully cultivated larch seedlings, and 96.6% of the seedlings began to put leaves.

Zhuozhuotong Mountain is gradually covered in green.

　　For the people of Saihanba, no matter how difficult it is, trees can be planted one by one; no matter how difficult it is, green miracles can be planted step by step.

In the 1960s, the lowest temperature in Saihanba was minus 43.3℃, ​​and the annual average temperature was minus 1.3℃; the average annual frost-free period was 64 days.

The hardship of life is beyond imagination.

　　The hard work of entrepreneurship has brought comforting green returns to the people of Saihanba.

In the 1980s, the Saihanba people completed afforestation of 960,000 acres, with a total of more than 320 million trees, and the pace of the sandy land invasion to the south came to an abrupt halt.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the last nearly 90,000 acres of stone barren hills in Saihanba have also been covered in green.

In 2021, Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm won the honorary title of National Model of Poverty Alleviation.

Saihanba purifies 284 million cubic meters of fresh water every year, and builds a green ecological barrier for wind-proof and sand-fixing and water conservation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This is also the great wealth that nature gives back to Saihanba.
