When Olle Jonsson went out into the woods last Saturday with her twin brother and cousin with families, they had no idea that nine hours later they would have to haul a whole load of chanterelles on the way home.

- We had small children with us who may not have the same patience, so we thought that we might gain 20 kg, says Olle Jonsson.

"Very unique"

They followed mushroom paths that older relatives had shown them over the years and camped at a place where they had seen a chanterelle.

It soon turned out to be many, many more than that.

- There were mushrooms everywhere, in every hill, in every ravine.

What was so unique was that they were so big and dry that it was like pulling grapes out of a bunch.

It was a wonderful feeling, very unique, says Olle.

After just over nine hours of picking, all the bags brought were filled.

- It was sick heavy to carry home, but it was just biting.

Once home in the cottage, the chanterelle load was weighed in at 75 kg.

During the weekend, the family picked up another 34 kg, ie a total of 109 kg.

- We come from a family interested in mushrooms, so we will cook and munch on the mushrooms.

Then we also gave away some to relatives and friends and sold a little.

Have you finished picking for this year?

- In any case, I have finished picking, but the twin brother will go out again. It is completely absurdly a lot of mushrooms now so it is impossible to describe. A chanterelle eldorado like no other.
