Kerstin Wikström retired the same summer vacation as when she turned 65 years old.

But already next autumn, she went back to school to work as a substitute primary school teacher.

- It was another teacher colleague who had started working again and she thought I should do the same, she says.

Hesitated before returning

At first, Kerstin Wikström was hesitant to return to her old job, but in the end she decided.

- I thought I could try and see how it feels and then I got stuck.

Now I think it's great fun to be back in school, she says.

"Several people my age are still working"

The primary school teacher is not the only one who has left retirement to start working again.

- I know several people my age who work as teachers and there will probably be more now that the demand for substitutes is so great, says Wikström.

How long do you plan to work as a teacher?

- I continue as long as I think it's fun and as long as I feel needed, says Kerstin Wikström.

In the video, Kerstin tells why she chose to return to her job.
