“President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakly Garibashvili the Order of Merit of the first degree within the framework of the Crimean Platform summit,” the message says.

As noted, the awards were given to representatives of other participating countries and organizations: President of the European Council Charles Michel, Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis, leaders of Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Finland and Estonia, prime ministers of Romania, Slovakia and Croatia.

The Crimean Platform summit was held in Kiev on 23 August.

In the final declaration, the participants announced the possible introduction of new sanctions against Russia over Crimea.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the meeting a sabbath, the Kremlin pointed to its "extreme hostility" towards Moscow.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum in March 2014, in which a majority of residents voted in favor of reunification with Russia.
