“Foreign citizens and stateless persons have been given the opportunity until September 30 to apply to the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with a statement on the settlement of their legal status,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs media says.

The recommendation applies to citizens who arrived in Russia before March 15, 2020 and who, as of June 16 of this year, have no legal grounds for staying in the country.

In addition, from October 1, the temporary ban on application to migrants who are in the country in violation of migration legislation, introduced by the decree "On temporary measures to regulate the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Russia during the period of overcoming the consequences of the spread of a new coronavirus infection," measures for forced removal from the state.

Earlier it was reported that in the first half of 2021, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs expelled about 8.6 thousand foreign citizens from the country.

During the same period, almost 100 thousand foreign citizens were banned from entering Russia on various grounds.
