“We received an explanation from the Ministry of Justice, there were many questions, there was a certain discussion ... the law was fully complied with, we did not find any violations of the law regarding the inclusion of the Dozhd TV channel in the register of foreign agents according to two criteria,” he is quoted as saying TASS.

As Fadeev noted, the first criterion is the dissemination of information, publications created by media-foreign agents, the second is obtaining funding from abroad.

“Unfortunately, both of these criteria are valid, so the Dozhd TV channel is included in the register of foreign agents,” he said.

According to the head of the HRC, the TV channel can go to court to challenge the decision of the Ministry of Justice.

Separately, Fadeev emphasized that the media, which were recognized as foreign agents, may lose their respective status "if they do not receive money from abroad."

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Ministry of Justice included the Dozhd TV channel in the register of foreign media agents.
