In particular, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the new US sanctions against Russia due to the situation around Alexei Navalny are unfair.
"The corresponding decision [on the sanctions] was made before the true state of affairs was clarified - this is unfair," TASS quoted a ministry spokesman as saying.
Earlier it was reported that the Treasury and the US State Department imposed new sanctions due to the incident with Navalny against nine Russian citizens and two organizations.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on US sanctions.
