The Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah revealed that the confirmed divorce cases in Sharjah decreased by 49% during the first quarter of this year to 39 cases, compared to the 77 confirmed cases in the first quarter of last year, while the total number of marriage contracts increased by 19%. In the first quarter of 2021, it reached 624 contracts, compared to 523 contracts registered in the first quarter of 2020.

The department’s indicators showed that the number of divorce cases between a male and female citizen reached 25 out of the total cases registered in the first quarter of this year, while the number between a citizen and non-citizen was nine, and between non-citizens four cases, while only one case was recorded between a female citizen and a non-citizen. citizen.

As for divorce cases in the first quarter of 2020, they were divided into 30 cases between a citizen and a female citizen, 18 cases between a citizen and a non-citizen, 27 cases between non-citizens, and two cases between a female citizen and a non-citizen.

The number of marriage contracts registered between a male and female citizen during the first quarter of this year reached 355 out of the total number of registered contracts, while the number between a citizen and non-citizen was 78, between non-citizens 175, and between female and non-citizen 16 contracts.

The total number of marriage contracts registered in the first quarter of last year between a citizen and a female citizen reached 299, between a male and a female citizen 166 contracts, and between non-citizens 20 contracts, while the number of contracts registered between a female citizen and non-citizen amounted to 38 contracts.
