Sunday evening, a man jumped from his apartment, located on the 3rd floor of a building on rue Fardel, in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes d'Armor).

Aged about fifty, he was trying to escape the fire that was ravaging his home.

Trapped in the flames, the individual broke out of the window.

He did not survive his fall.

Arrived on site around 8:30 pm, the firefighters needed three nozzles to extinguish this fire which they describe as "violent".

Firefighters also took care of a 48-year-old man who had been slightly injured.

Eight people residing in the building were relocated by the municipality.

Present at the scene, the police opened an investigation to try to determine the origin of the incident.
