In front of the online G7 summit on the situation in Afghanistan, the Presidency of the United Kingdom issued a statement on promoting the protection of women's rights and humanitarian assistance to the field. He expressed the prospect of a discussion.

Following the situation in Afghanistan, where the insurgent Taliban has seized power, the leaders of the seven major G7 countries will hold an online meeting on the night of the 24th of Japan time.



Prior to this, the G7 presidency, the United Kingdom, issued a statement saying, "Leaders will emphasize the achievements that have been brought to Afghanistan over the last two decades, especially the protection of women's education and rights. As a G7, we will encourage the Taliban to protect women's rights.



The conference will also discuss how to continue to cooperate in safe evacuation from the airport in Kabul, the capital, and how to proceed with humanitarian assistance.



In a statement, Prime Minister Johnson said, "The Taliban must be shown in action, not in words."



In response to the situation in Afghanistan, the United Kingdom has so far increased its contributions to humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and has indicated that it will accept up to 20,000 refugees.
