Dubai Roads enters the Guinness Book of Records

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has achieved a new Guinness World Record by gathering the largest number of nationalities for an awareness event called "The Largest Number of Nationalities in a Construction Safety Session".

The Traffic and Roads Agency at the RTA succeeded in setting this record to enter the RTA in the Guinness Book of Records by organizing an awareness-raising event in occupational safety with its strategic partners working in the Shindagha Corridor Development Project (Infinity Bridge), which included individuals representing 75 nationalities.

The Guinness team attended this event, which witnessed the setting of the world record at the project site, while fully adhering to the restrictions and precautionary measures established by the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Emergency Management in Dubai to combat Covid-19.

The Executive Director of the Traffic and Roads Corporation at the authority, Engineer Maitha bin Uday, said, "We are very keen to implement the principle that "the safety of individuals transcends all other considerations related to construction and maintenance." Protecting our employees, partners and the community around us.

Engineer Maitha expressed her happiness with this achievement.. at the same time, praising the tireless efforts of the authority’s field work teams and other partners’ field work teams, where everyone works in a team spirit and with remarkable performance to implement the drawn plans and strategies that have been set and achieve the desired goals for the happiness of the emirate’s residents, visitors and incoming tourists to them from all countries of the world and raise their level of satisfaction.

She added: The Traffic and Roads Corporation is proud of ensuring the health and safety of all workers and participants in road projects and is fully convinced of the importance of instilling a culture of safety in all its projects at all levels, and given the current situation of the pandemic, there is a greater focus on maintaining the safety of all project team.

Maitha bin Uday affirmed the authority’s keenness to communicate and work with reputable international consultants and contractors to study, design, construct, operate and maintain road projects for infrastructure.. Referring to the commitment to applying the highest standards of occupational health and safety in construction workplaces and belief in the importance of continuous awareness for all workers, she said: We have a large number Of the nationalities working in our projects, and various initiatives are launched to ensure a safe work environment for them, through which we seek to highlight the message of occupational safety adopted by the institution to achieve its desired goals, which resulted in setting a world record.

She concluded by saying: We are interested in developing occupational health and safety systems in the work environment, and we develop clear court procedures and annual plans with the aim of strengthening the principles of occupational safety in our construction projects through cooperation with experts and specialists and the transfer of successful experiences to maximize the level of benefit desired from holding awareness sessions.
