During a phone call with Mohamed bin Zayed

The US President thanks the UAE for its efforts in facilitating the evacuations from Afghanistan

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received a phone call last night from Joe Biden, President of the friendly United States of America, in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the support and facilities provided by the UAE in the evacuation of diplomats and American nationals from Afghanistan, in addition to citizens of friendly countries, as well as Afghans who hold visas for these countries.

The US President said, "We highly appreciate the UAE's humanitarian efforts to facilitate the safe transit of American citizens, embassy employees, and foreigners who have been evacuated from Kabul to third countries," adding: "This position embodies the strong and enduring partnership between the UAE and the United States."

His Highness and the US President also exchanged views on a number of issues and developments in regional and international files of common concern, stressing the importance of working together to face these challenges.
