Elected favorite village of the French in 2019, Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, as every year, welcomes thousands of visitors for its Tatihou Traversées festival.

Since Friday August 20 and for another three days, concerts are given on the Island of Tatihou located a little over a kilometer off Saint-Vaast.

A program centered on traditional music and world music, from Brazil to Siberia via the Central African Republic and Brittany.

But this festival must be earned: to access it, it is on foot on the shore during low tide.

It is 3 p.m., a practicable path takes shape to reach the island of Tatihou and its musical festival programmed according to the tides.

It left for twenty minutes of walking, bag on the back, Maryline did not expect such a beautiful landscape: “

The oyster beds, with Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue in the background, it's super pretty!

Then with the clouds, the lights are extraordinary, it's really nice

!

 "

Halfway, the first obstacle, over twenty meters, the water rises to the calves, some regret not having taken the shuttle.

Seven-year-old Anna disagrees: “

I want to walk in the water!

I think the boat would be less fun than that.

 "

Olivier, he made the crossing barefoot: "

My wife took flip-flops, and here I am, I was indeed a little ambitious, I went there barefoot in the stones, actually believing that Tatihou is deserved.

!

 ".

Finally arrived on this island almost devoid of any construction, the pain is quickly forgotten: “

Visually, it's nice all the same, there is a perspective that is indeed a little exotic.

 "

All that remains is to enjoy the eclectic musical programming, on Tatihou, you can meet Central African pygmies, and a Siberian shaman.
