After talking about welfare, climate and gang crime, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) ended his summer speech at Runö course yard in Åkersberga with a too many surprising resignation announcements.

- It is better for the party, it is more honest for the voters to be able to say in the election campaign next year that we have this party chairman and that person will be a prime ministerial candidate.

That person will be able to lead the party and the country for a long time, he says

Löfven said that he had previously been set on continuing for another term, but that the decision to resign had matured for some time.

He explains the message by saying that the best thing for the party is to have a chairman who stays for a long time to come, who has time to prepare for the next election.

- It's not easy, but right.

It is the most important.
