It was last Saturday that the home care service went on a planned home visit to an elderly man outside Katrineholm.

Once in place, the elderly man must have been upset that the home care service took too long to help him, according to a report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

The home service then saw that the older man had a pistol-like object lying on the walker.

Threatened to shoot

When they were finished with the man and about to leave the home, the staff pointed out the weapon.

According to the report, the older man must then have become angry and said that he should be ready when they come back and shoot, but not kill them.

The home service must then have backed out through the door.

The older man should never have touched the weapon, but only threatened verbally and the gun in question was not a real weapon, according to the police.

All weapons taken care of

After the incident, the emergency nurse at Katrineholm municipality was contacted, who in turn reported the incident to the police.

The police seized all the weapons that the older man kept in the home and a preliminary investigation into suspected serious illegal threats has been initiated.

- There were both air weapons and real weapons in the apartment that he had a permit for.

The real ones are taken care of, says Dennis Johansson, on-duty preliminary investigation leader.

The preliminary investigation has now been completed and closed. No charges have been brought against the man.
