Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Digital Economy, Artificial Intelligence and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Digital School", one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's global initiatives, confirmed that the repercussions of the emerging Corona virus pandemic highlighted the importance of creating a sustainable digital education system, and that countries The most prepared managed to mitigate the repercussions of the shutdown by adopting digital solutions.

This came during his signing of a memorandum of understanding with the President of Arizona State University, Michael Crowe, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation to develop tools and mechanisms to provide and facilitate the provision of advanced digital education using digital and technological solutions, especially in disadvantaged communities, refugee and displaced communities, and those affected by conflicts and disasters.

Under the memorandum of understanding, the "Digital School" and Arizona State University will work to exchange experiences in the field of developing digital education and enable the widest segment of students and learners, especially in lower-income communities and refugee and displaced camps, to obtain digital education and training in using its flexible tools for self-development, creating New opportunities to overcome the challenges of their difficult living reality through science and knowledge.

The university will also be a strategic partner for the digital school, over a period of three years, to develop the capabilities and skills of digital education for about 1,500 teachers and educational supervisors enrolled in the digital school.

The two parties will also cooperate on special joint programs to develop the capabilities of teachers and digital education providers, in addition to exchanging knowledge and successful practices in the processes of learning, capacity building and research, setting work frameworks and employing advanced technology in digital education.
