Last winter, a wolf pair formed Skåne's first wolf territory in modern times.

Since the wolves became a pair, they have lived on game and not attacked any domestic animals, according to the county administrative board.

The last confirmed observation of the wolf pair was made in June.

- We have received tips during the summer as well, but nothing that we have been able to confirm, says David Börjesson who is a game manager at the county administrative board.

Whether any puppies were born is unclear, according to the county administrative board.

So far no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange.

Wolf pairs usually give birth to puppies during the month of May.

"Not invisible"

Mats Bentmar, a Scanian wolf enthusiast who tracks, photographs and records wolf packs in Västmanland every year, is almost certain that there will be no Scanian wolf pups this year.

At this time of year, the puppies move a lot - within the so-called rendez-vous place which can be quite large, and so they can accompany their parents on short walks along forest roads.

Someone should have seen them, says Bentmar.

- The area is not sparsely populated.

Wolf puppies are not invisible.

But someone who does not want the wolves to be noticed may have seen them and chosen not to report it?

- It is entirely possible.

So it may be.

But quite a lot of people are moving here.

I think the secret can not be kept if there are wolf puppies.

"99 percent safe"

If nothing else, the puppies, and before that a pregnant female, should have been seen on the game cameras that the county administrative board set up in the area, says Mats Bentmar.

The game cameras that the county administrative board has set up are emptied and checked at regular intervals, but so far no puppies have been seen there, according to the county administrative board.

- Without a doubt you should have seen it.

This is not to say that there are no puppies.

But I do not think so.

On a scale of 1 to 100, I am 99 percent sure.

There may have been puppies but they may have left life at a young age - that is, before they leave the nest, says Bentmar.

In the video, you will hear more reasons why Mats Bentmar does not think there are any Scanian wolf puppies.
