Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said, on Tuesday, that his government considers the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to be responsible for any act committed by any Palestinian entity in the Gaza Strip.

"From our point of view, the address in Gaza is Hamas, not rogue parties, and no one but Hamas," he added in press statements during his visit to the Gaza Strip's periphery.

Bennett's statements come a day after a shell was launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, without any Palestinian party claiming responsibility for it.

The Israeli army did not bombard Hamas-affiliated sites in response to the rocket fire, but Bennett said, "We will act at the right time and place, and in the right conditions for us, and not for any other party."

During the visit, Bennett held a situational assessment session, which was attended by Defense Minister Benny Gantz, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi, National Security Authority Chairman Eyal Holata, IDF Southern Command Commander Eliezer Toledano, IDF Division Commander Nimrod Aloni, and other senior security officials.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Israeli army division, which is responsible for the Gaza Strip.

Following the meeting, Bennett said that Israel and the IDF stand ready to face all scenarios.
