It has been a turbulent week for the moderates in Malmö.

On Friday night, the party's main representative announced that he was leaving his posts with immediate effect.

- He has put himself in a situation that is unsustainable and therefore I think it is good that he has made that decision, says Peter Ollén.

Work is now beginning on finding a replacement as opposition councilor in Malmö.

For the time being, Håkan Fäldt will replace Torbjörn Tegnhammar.

How does what happened to the party affect?

- It does not affect the daily work, but on the other hand it is sad that it happens and it is very sad when it is the main representative, says Peter Ollén.

A new leader will be appointed

Peter Ollén says that many feel bad about what has happened and that he as chairman will now "gather the party".

- I want to make people feel safe when they are with us.

If something happens, we take it in, even if it is the main representative who is involved.

In just over a year, there will be an election and Peter Ollén says that the nomination work has begun.

- We will be ready with our proval in a month, ie all members can vote which candidates they want on our ballot papers to the Riksdag, Skåne region and locally in Malmö.

Based on that, we will see who you want as future leaders.

Can Torbjörn Tegnhammar make a "comeback" as you see it?

- Just like all members, he can stand in whatever elections he wants. If he so wishes, he can seek the trust of the members in the by-elections, says Peter Ollén (M), who for his part is now hoping for some work faith in the party.
