The State Public Prosecution clarified, through a tweet posted on its accounts on social media, the penalty for changing the status of people with the intent of misleading the judiciary.

The Public Prosecution indicated that, according to Article 266 of the Federal Penal Code, anyone who, with the intent of misleading the judiciary, changes the status of persons, places or things, conceals evidence of the crime, or provides false information related to it knowing that it is not true, shall be punished by imprisonment.

The dissemination of this information comes within the framework of the State Public Prosecution's ongoing campaign to enhance the legal culture among members of society and raise the level of public awareness of the law, with the aim of spreading the culture of law as a way of life.
