According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Mari El, the area of the forest fire in the Medvedevsky region has increased to 600 hectares, and the village of Sosnovy Bor has been threatened.
Earlier it was reported that helicopters of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan would be sent to the region as part of the fight against the elements.
