According to Tomas Karlsson, the restaurants have had problems ensuring that the guests have sat in their seats and not mingled among the tables after the opening hours for restaurants and restaurants were changed.

- What we have seen is that when the time is 23:30, the alcohol intake becomes greater and they have difficulty sitting down.

You want to talk to friends and move around chairs and the restaurateurs have to work on that.

Maybe it was a little early to let go of the restrictions before the summer, says Tomas Karlsson.

Order to three restaurants

It has been a long serial with supervisory controls for the municipality.

Three restaurants in Umeå have now been fined for repeated deficiencies and risk having to pay a fine if they do not remedy the deficiencies.

- It was crowded among the guests who continued after remarks so then it became an injunction that will be followed up.

A few weeks ago, there was an outbreak at a restaurant in Umeå where about ten visitors were infected.

- We keep in constant contact with infection control.

The staff is tested every day and we work based on all restrictions that exist and have corona hosts, keep their distance and follow the company to the tables, says one of the owners to the restaurant.

Challenge during the autumn

The supervisory controls will continue during the autumn and a new challenge awaits the municipality.

- The students will come soon and then we have another challenge.

The student unions with their own restaurants must be sure that they can avoid congestion, says Tomas Karlsson.
