According to Putin, during the talks, Merkel touched upon a topic related to the state of affairs around Belarus.
“We believe that contradictions within the Belarusian society can be resolved only within the framework of the constitutional and legal field and exclusively by the Belarusians themselves, without external interference,” the President noted.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the stabilization of the political situation in the republic.
