For refusing to wear a mask in public places and obstructing the performance of official duties by the police, a British man was sentenced in Singapore and will be deported.

The man named Benjamin Green, 40 years old, works in Singapore.

A Singapore court found Green on August 18 local time for violating the new crown epidemic prevention regulations and obstructing police from performing official duties, and sentenced him to 6 weeks in prison.

Green’s crimes include refusing to wear a mask on a train in May 2021, the police who threatened to arrest him with words, refusing to wear a mask when he appeared in court in July, and making rude statements in court.

Since the time spent in custody awaiting trial reached two-thirds of the sentence, Green was released after the sentence was pronounced, and the immigration agency is arranging for his deportation.
