Mexican Saul "Canelo" Alvarez announced Thursday that he will face undefeated American Caleb Plant for the unification of the world boxing belts in the super middleweight category on November 6 in Las Vegas. it announced Thursday.

“On November 6 we're going to put Mexican boxing on top,” Alvarez tweeted.

"On the way to the missing belt!"

The showdown will pit Alvarez, who currently holds the WBA, WBC and WBO world belts, against Plant, IBF champion and undefeated in 21 fights.

Alvarez, 56 wins on the clock including 38 knockouts, for two draws and one defeat, will seek his eighth consecutive success.

The Mexican defeated Briton Callum Smith by unanimous decision in December 2020 for the WBA and WBC belts, then he conquered the WBO belt three months ago against fellow Briton Billy Joe Saunders.

Plant, 21 wins including 12 knockouts and no losses, won the IBF belt by beating Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui by unanimous decision in January 2019, then defending it three times, most recently against compatriot Caleb Truax by unanimous decision in January 2021.
