It's a sad and beautiful story at the same time that the daily
Le Progrès
tells
this Friday.
It takes place in the Jura, in Lons-le-Saunier, not far from Switzerland and the small French town of Saint-Amour.
Love, precisely, the husband and wife Roland and Arlette have probably not lacked since they were to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary at the end of the year.
A birthday they might have celebrated with their five children and twelve grandchildren.
But the couple, from the North, were almost 90 years old and in poor health.
Roland recently resided in an Ehpad.
Arlette lived alone but had just been hospitalized.
Separated, the two finally died a few minutes apart, in the middle of the night.
One at 1:15 am, the other at 1:50 am.
It was August 9, the day of… Saint-Amour.
