In detail, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health has identified nine cases of cosmetic product fraud, six of which are through changing the contents of the cosmetic product, and the product contains drugs or prohibited substances and chemicals in high concentrations, which can cause side effects, dangerous health problems, or the product contains: Impurities or suspicious substances, or the product being manufactured or stored in inappropriate conditions, leads to contamination of the product with harmful substances such as bacteria and fungi, which leads to severe diarrhea, kidney failure and anemia.

She added that the second method is when the product packaging is made entirely or partially of a toxic substance or harmful to health, or if the product contains unsafe additives or dyes, in addition to the product containing untested materials, with disproportionate combinations and quantities. The department indicated, in the guide to the safe use of cosmetic products that it recently issued, to three cases of cheating cosmetic products through the information on the product label, including containing false data and misleading information, or the product label not containing the name and address of the manufacturer, or a list of correct ingredients, with Clearly state the quantities used, in addition to manufacturing the cosmetic packaging, or packing it in a way that misleads the consumer and in a way that is counterfeit of a known product.

The department warned that fraudulent cosmetic products have become more prevalent in recent times, and are promoted through various sales outlets, through the Internet, or through social media and mobile phone applications, pointing out that it has recently spotted fraudulent products and included them in the lists of fraudulent products. These lists were published on its website, to warn consumers about these products, and the danger of their use, as they pose a threat to their lives.

The department attributed one of the main reasons for the manufacturers of fraudulent cosmetic products to add medicinal substances that are only available by prescription, in some products, to the desire to obtain a faster effect and result, noting that most of these products are manufactured in unhealthy laboratories, and they are not licensed to do this. command.

She pointed out that various types of bacteria could be found in adulterated cosmetic products, which may cause infections, rashes and allergic reactions, pointing out that "coli Escherichia" bacteria were found in adulterated cosmetics, which is the most prevalent type of bacteria, and can cause infection. Severe diarrhea, kidney failure and anemia, in addition to the discovery of the presence of some heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, mercury, aluminum, zinc, chromium and iron, in quantities that exceed the safe level in cosmetic products, which poses significant health risks, especially if these minerals accumulate in the vital organs of the body.
