The UAE continues to work with its international partners in support of relief efforts in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed that the UAE contributed to facilitating the process of evacuating foreign nationals from Afghanistan before and during the current situation.

The ministry said in a statement in this regard that within the framework of its continuous and permanent support in accordance with humanitarian considerations, the UAE has worked alongside its international partners to support international relief efforts in Afghanistan.

Sultan Muhammad Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs, stressed that the UAE's focus in recent days has been to support the efforts made by a group of countries and non-governmental organizations to safely evacuate their officials and employees, including some Afghan citizens, through the country's airports and to their final destinations.

He pointed out that the UAE is a committed and active member of the international community and that it is making unremitting efforts to protect and provide relief to the needy.

He stressed that the continuous support provided by the UAE in this regard is evidence of its commitment to strengthening international cooperation.

In this regard, he said: "Based on our firm support for peaceful and multilateral solutions, the UAE is working with its international partners to advance efforts to achieve the aspirations of the Afghan people for peace, development and stability."

He noted that the UAE is closely following the developments in Afghanistan and joining the call of the international community, which demands a peaceful solution that meets the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Afghan people.
