China News Service, Beijing, August 18 (Reporter Guo Chaokai) Li Guozhong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security of China, said in Beijing on the 18th that since July 20, the public security organs have promptly investigated and dealt with 1,054 cases of epidemic-related crimes, and cracked down on 1,785 people.

On the same day, the Ministry of Public Security of China held a press conference to inform the public security organs of their full commitment to flood fighting and epidemic prevention and control.
Li Guozhong informed at the meeting that since the recent outbreak of the epidemic in multiple locations in the country, public security organs in various places have attached great importance to it and made careful arrangements.
Since July 20, the national 110 criminal and public security police conditions have dropped 7.4% and 2.9% year-on-year, respectively, and 1.8% and 4.5% month-on-month respectively.
Since July 20th, 27 local public security organs across the country have invested more than 200,000 police personnel to ensure the safety of more than 750 designated hospitals and more than 3,600 centralized isolation sites.
Among them, 17 medium and high-risk local public security agencies dispatched nearly 150,000 police personnel to assist in the verification, search, and transfer of more than 547,000 people who were confirmed, suspected, and close contacts.
Public security agencies in key regions such as Henan, Jiangsu, and Hunan have activated more than 1,200 epidemic prevention and control checkpoints, inspecting more than 780,000 vehicles and more than 1 million people.
The public security traffic control department assisted in ensuring the smooth entry of 1764 batches of vaccine transport vehicles into the city, strengthened the drainage and control of surrounding roads such as hospitals, isolation points, and material storage points, and successively guaranteed the smooth passage of 2,627 batches of epidemic prevention materials and emergency material transportation vehicles.
Since August 1, the public security organs have deployed more than 115,000 police officers at 80 checkpoints around Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, inspected more than 6.232 million vehicles, more than 12.337 million personnel, and 1,171 people involved in the epidemic.
The railway public security organs insisted on “source card, midway investigation, and end-to-end congestion”, cooperated with the suspension of sales of tickets for entering Beijing at 23 regional stations, closely cooperated with the inspection of train passengers, and strictly checked and controlled the epidemic-related early warning personnel. Since July 20, they have assisted Relevant departments dealt with 6 passengers with positive nucleic acid tests, 79 passengers with fever, and 1889 close contacts.
The civil aviation public security organs comprehensively strengthened the epidemic prevention and control work, handled a total of 2,084 cases of epidemic prevention and control police, and assisted in the isolation of more than 79,000 people.
In response to the recent severe rebound of the international epidemic and the continued deterioration of the epidemic situation in neighboring countries, the immigration management system strictly implements immigration control measures, and resolutely builds a solid line of defense against foreign imports.
Li Guozhong stated that in response to illegal and criminal behaviors such as obstructing the prevention and control of infectious diseases, fabricating and distributing false information about the epidemic, not cooperating with epidemic detection, and refusing to isolate and treat, the public security organs are closely monitoring the production and sale of counterfeit and inferior masks and other anti-epidemic materials, illegal disposal of medical waste, and online production and sales of fakes. Fake and other illegal and criminal activities, broaden sources of clues, strengthen investigations, punish severely and promptly in accordance with the law, and severely crack down on disrupting medical order, epidemic prevention order, market order, financial order, social order and other illegal and criminal activities in accordance with the law, and resolutely safeguard the epidemic Prevention and control order and good social order.
Since July 20, the public security organs promptly investigated and dealt with 1,054 cases of epidemic-related crimes and 1,785 people were dealt with.
A total of 230 large-scale events have been cancelled in 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country, and 174 events have been postponed.
Beijing, Jiangsu, Hunan, Shaanxi and other places have suspended the approval of large-scale events, and the approved large-scale events insist on "non-essential non-organization, whoever holds it is responsible."
More than 45,000 chess and card rooms and mahjong halls in Jiangsu province are all closed.
