The general delegate of La République en Marche Stanislas Guérini was the guest of the morning of Europe 1, Wednesday.

He assures us: the movement created in 2017 by Emmanuel Macron is not "intended to be dissolved today".

INTERVIEW

Can the Republic on the move turn into a federation bringing together all the allies of the macronia?

A "common house" in the form of a "confederation" of centers?

These terms have often been used by the supporters of Emmanuel Macron, eight months before the 2022 presidential election. However, merging to rule better is not a program on the agenda, according to Stanislas Gerini.

"I do not believe that the Republic in March is intended to be dissolved today", assures Stanislas Guerini at the microphone of Europe 1, Wednesday.

"It is a movement that brought together citizens in 2017 who must continue to speak in support of the President of the Republic, in support of the presidential majority," he continues.

"We will continue to be artisans of political overtaking"

And for good reason, the regrouping of the parties of the center never really saw the light of day.

According to an article in the newspaper

Liberation

, the "federation", for a time imagined by Prime Minister Jean Castex or even the adviser to President Stéphane Séjourné, supposed to welcome all the allies of the marchers, has not been validated by all.

In particular for a major support: the Modem of François Bayrou.

This rapprochement between the centers, the Republic on the move would still like to try it for the presidential election of 2022. Emmanuel Macron must be at the head of a coalition, according to the marchers.

"We will continue to be architects of political overtaking", assures Stanislas Gerini on Europe 1 while explaining that The Republic on the march must continue to exist alone.

"I believe that the strength of the marchers, this citizen energy there, it must continue to exist and be at the center of the presidential majority", continues the general delegate of LREM.

"The results were not there"

But is the Republic on the move viable without its centrist allies? During the last elections, the movement of Emmanuel Macron did not shine. At the regional level, no walker came out on top and the percentage of votes in favor of LREM rarely exceeded 15%. "The results were not there," concedes Stanislas Guerini. Before adding: "but I do not believe that it is a problem of militant energy".

For the boss of LREM, this is a local "anchoring problem". "We are going to mobilize as of this return to go and listen to the French," he assures us. Before his vacation at Fort Brégançon, the Head of State had already started a political tour of France to take the pulse of the country. From Lot to Drôme via French Polynesia ... according to many observers, Emmanuel Macron has already embarked on a campaign that does not speak his name.
