On Friday, a 30-year-old man from another EU country was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for a serious drug offense, for his denial.

Östersunds Tingsrätt states that the man, in collaboration with three other men, has grown around 900 cannabis plants at three different addresses.

As early as June 10, his accomplices were sentenced to between 2.5 and 3 years in prison and deportation for the same crime.

European cooperation

It was after a tip from the Polish police that the Swedish police began a reconnaissance work against the four men.

The police used telephone tapping, secret camera surveillance and GPS location to prove how the men in collaboration cultivated cannabis.

The cannabis cultivations must have been discovered inside properties at two addresses in Åre and Berg municipalities and one in Värmland.

Internationally wanted

The district court believes that the 30-year-old had a very important role in the cannabis cultivation at all three addresses.

Since the quantities of cannabis grown correspond to just over 50 kg at harvest, it is obvious, according to the district court, that the drugs were grown for the purpose of selling.

The 30-year-old is therefore sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison, followed by deportation.

The man was arrested in Spain by local police on May 24 after being wanted internationally.
