Burkina Faso: at least 47 civilians and soldiers killed in an attack in the Sahel

A new attack took place today in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso.

A convoy of civilians has been targeted and the toll is heavy, around a hundred dead in all.

According to security sources, 47 civilians and soldiers as well as 58 terrorists were killed.

The attack took place on the Dori-Aribinda axis, 25 kilometers from the town of Gorgadji, according to security sources.

The defense and security forces and the volunteers for the defense of the homeland were on a mission to secure the civilians who joined Aribinda.

After leaving Dori, the convoy was attacked head-on by armed men.

During the fighting, around 30 civilians were killed.

Fourteen SDFs and three volunteers were also killed.

It is also reported that the SDF killed 58 terrorists.

Relief operations are still underway on site.
