Corinne Vella, the sister of the journalist murdered in 2017 is indeed relieved, she told RFI that it was "an

immense progress in this affair

 ".

According to her, it "

was impossible to deny the obvious

" in the face of the evidence which overwhelms Yorgen Fenech.

He was arrested two years ago while trying to escape on a yacht.

The businessman is accused of orchestrating the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

He allegedly asked a taxi driver to hire three men to kill the 53-year-old journalist who was becoming very embarrassing for Yorgen Fenech.

An order that would have cost him 150,000 euros.

While investigating corruption cases in the country, she discovered the existence of a company that owed hundreds of thousands of euros to two members of the government and this company was owned by Yorgen Fenech.

This real estate developer, one of the richest men in Malta at the time, has always denied being behind the assassination.

He even accused several senior government officials.

The prosecution's requisitions prove that the trial of Yorgen Fenech will in any case take place.

The date has yet to be determined.
