Abu Dhabi Police violating 170 drivers for throwing waste on roads and public facilities while driving their vehicles during the first half of this year, advising road users to throw garbage and waste in the designated places, taking into account environmental safety and public health, and preserving the civilized appearance of the Emirate.

She called on vehicle drivers to abide by and alert passengers with them not to throw any waste on the roads, and to participate in promoting positive behaviors by preserving the environment and the general appearance of cities, explaining that this behavior may cause environmental pollution and urged the need to cooperate with the competent authorities in taking care of health, safety and the environment by getting rid of waste. Abu Dhabi Police stated that the Traffic Law stated in Article No. (71), that “throwing waste from vehicles on the road is a violation while driving” with a fine of 1,000 dirhams, and registration of six traffic points for violating drivers.

She stressed the keenness to continue its efforts in educating drivers and road users to avoid uncivil behaviors committed by some drivers carelessly and causing distortion of the environment.
