TASS informs about this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

"Today at 17:00 (14:00 Moscow time) the military transport aircraft C-295 of the Kazakh Air Force safely landed in Alma-Ata with 42 passengers evacuated from Afghanistan," the message says.

It is noted that "25 citizens of Kazakhstan arrived in Kazakhstan, including 15 adults and 10 children, as well as employees of the Kazakh embassy."

It is also reported that by this board, at the request of the Kyrgyz side, 14 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were evacuated.

The Ministry of Defense added that "as a humanitarian operation, this plane also evacuated 1 Russian citizen and 1 Lithuanian citizen from the IRA, who applied to the Kazakh embassy with a request for assistance."

Earlier it was reported that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting on the situation in Afghanistan.
