[Taiwan Youth Dream Mainland (15)] Let more people feel the charm of Chinese folk music

"I was tempted to learn pipa at the beginning because I thought the picture of'still holding the pipa half-hidden' in the ancient poems was very beautiful." The 25-year-old Zhuang Zihui was quiet and gentle. At first glance, he couldn't believe such a young man. The girl is already alone in the orchestra.

More than 3 years ago, Zhuang Zihui graduated from the National Taiwan University of the Arts and joined the Suzhou National Orchestra. It took just over a year to become the acting chief of the Pipa Division of the orchestra.

Born in 1996, he formally studied music at the age of 8. He started majoring in pipa at the age of 9, and was admitted to the National Music Department of Taiwan University of the Arts at the age of 18 with the top score in the plucking group. Zhuang Zihui did not stay in Taiwan after graduation, but chose Suzhou, Jiangsu. As the first foothold in the workplace.

"I came to Suzhou to discover the special fate between me and here. The first pipa I learned in music when I was a child was born in Suzhou!" In the interview, Zhuang Zihui made no secret of his love for Suzhou.

What attracted her to stay in Suzhou?

"The first is the environment in Suzhou, where the living environment is very good, and the diet and daily life are more accustomed. The second is salary and welfare. Although the work is a little harder, the income is more satisfying." Zhuang Zihui introduced her daily routine to the reporter. work and life.

Rehearsal, performance, and re-rehearsal. The orchestra is fast-paced, demanding, and has a final elimination system. Everyone must face fierce competition, but for young people, this is a good opportunity for learning and progress.

"If you stay in Taiwan, you will be a teacher. Otherwise, you will be a band or self-media. There is a lot of room for professional development." Zhuang Zihui said that the Suzhou National Orchestra has a large number of very good musicians. For example, the famous musician Peng Jiapeng serves as the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra, and the famous erhu performing artist and musician Zhu Changyao serves as the artistic director. A lot can be learned from them.

Moreover, according to Zhou Peiran, deputy general manager of the Suzhou National Orchestra, the orchestra invites outstanding composers who understand Chinese culture to write music every year, so musicians can get in touch with many new works and their professionalism will be greatly improved.

More than three years of experience has given Zhuang Zihui a deeper understanding of folk music.

"I hope to break everyone's misunderstanding of folk music. Don't talk about our national musical instruments, it feels like an old man on the side of the road pulling an erhu." Zhuang Zihui said, although everyone generally thinks that symphony is more "tall", but folk music The history is deeper and longer. It is not just an "old voice", but has many forms of presentation.

"Now our orchestra is also doing the symphony of national music. Musicians on both sides of the strait should become messengers to inherit and promote Chinese national music culture, so that more people can feel the charm of Chinese folk music."

Zhuang Zihui has been touring 13 cities in 9 countries in Europe with the orchestra. The popularity of the concert is beyond her expectations, and it has also given her a lot of confidence and encouragement.

"Sometimes it takes more than ten minutes to call the curtain call. I remember an old lady wearing a red hat and a red Tang suit applauding for us after the performance. This cross-cultural recognition made me feel very touched."

The Suzhou National Orchestra has nearly one hundred musicians from all over the world, from all over the world. In addition to Mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Canada, Spain, Malaysia, etc.

The environment, system, and atmosphere of the orchestra are all in line with international standards, and the treatment is also very attractive.

"The orchestra provides two-year free dormitories for new members. There are also various benefits during the holidays. Dragon Boat Festival sends out zongzi, Mid-Autumn Festival sends out moon cakes, and buys down jackets for everyone in winter. It also organizes group building so that everyone can exchange feelings. Integrate into Suzhou life." Zhuang Zihui said with a smile. She is saving money recently and is preparing to buy a house in Suzhou. She is going to take root and develop here.
