Cybergrooming ", the initiation of child abuse on the Internet by adult perpetrators who pretend to be friends of the same age, has not been portrayed more effectively in any feature film than in" The White Rabbit "in 2016. Lena Urzendowsky, only fifteen years old during the filming, effectively embodies the naive Sara, a girl between childish fairy tale fantasies, insecurities and the desire to be perceived as a young woman. Devid Striesow plays the perpetrator who initially pretends to be a supporter when Julian (Louis Hofmann), a son from a good family, forces Sara to give a blowjob because of carelessly sent nude pictures and resells the filmed material. The film by Florian Schwarz (director), Michael Proehl, Holger Karsten Schmidt (both book) and Philipp Sichler (camera) received important awards.Young people, however, mocked the unrealistic representation of the net world (the exact representation of which the film does not aim at). The target audience were parents who watched with horror at the hideous exploitation that girls and boys face on the Internet in puberty, the age with the greatest risk-taking and fear of exposure.

The ten-part Norwegian miniseries "Nudes - Nackt im Netz", a license purchase by ARD Degeto, is in some ways the opposite of the feature film.

First of all, narration is consistently told at eye level among young people.

In terms of production didactics, it is assumed that this age group is constantly on the web with every tangible device, but that the adolescents portrayed have never heard of child pornography or are aware that their nudity is a coveted commodity.

And that corresponding photos and videos, uploaded and shared, will never go away and, especially for girls, lead to social stigmatization like nothing else.

Overdue curriculum update

"Nudes" shows in ten twenty-minute episodes in which three different stories are told, media-educational education in the solidarity offer of fiction. At least immanently, the production makes it clear that it is taking on the task of the school. In the third story, "Adas Story", fourteen-year-old Ada (Anna Storeng Frøseth) is bored during the highly embarrassing student lecture on genital herpes. Sex education classes do not provide answers to questions that really concern young people, despite the teacher's “relaxed” approach. “Nudes” is the overdue curriculum update, which also addresses the dangers of uninhibited alcohol consumption.

"Ada's Story" is similar to that of Sara in "The White Rabbit". "Sofias Story" (with Lena Reinhardtsen) is about the sex video of the sixteen year old with the older Axel (Christian Reyes Løvdal), secretly filmed by a third party at an uninhibited party. "Viktors Story" takes the perspective of the popular, sensible Head Boy (Tord Kinge), who only briefly puts a sex video of Miriam (Stella Kvam Young) that he filmed himself out of joke online, quickly deletes it, reports it and is soon reported by the police for its production and dissemination of child pornographic material is questioned. This narrative thread in particular, which takes the real or alleged naivety of such perpetrators seriously, is educationally valuable and cinematically banal. A lawyer describes the legal situation to the increasingly insecure Viktor and his horrified parents. If convicted, he will not be allowed to work in the health service, as a teacher or anywhere in the Norwegian public service. There is a kind of perpetrator-victim reconciliation discussion. Only now does Viktor understand the consequences his "joke" has for Miriam, who is a child according to the law at seventeen.

That the super-educational approach of the scripts by Jørgen Færøy Flasnes, Liv Joelle Barbosa Blad and Erika Calmeyer achieves the goal of identifying with the youthful characters, so that fewer “dick pics” are sent, less manipulatively collected topless photos are shared and media skills increases is unfortunately rather unlikely.

The aha-effect should be limited, the address of the Netflix-spoiled group is simply too clumsy.

The ARD media library (the episodes can be seen on linear television at night owl time appropriate for their age) is not exactly the place where fourteen to eighteen year olds romp about.

The series may work best in face-to-face lessons with lively discussion in the group.
