Textile artist Julia Riordan, also known as Julia Rio, has traveled from Stockholm to Oskarström to paint.

She visited two months ago and gathered inspiration.

- We thought her textile background was exciting to connect with the old jute fabric factory, says Jennie Idofsson, producer of public art at the cultural administration Halmstad municipality.

Collected patterns from buildings

Not much textile can be seen in the work, rather patterns and shapes from the buildings that remain in Oskarström today.

Passers-by can see traces of both the Albert Fountain and the Catholic Church if they look closely.

The artwork has cost SEK 240,000.
