In addition, the prefecture recalled that "all catering establishments must be closed at 8 pm in Saint-Barthélemy, as in Saint-Martin".

In addition, delivery is prohibited during the curfew.

In order to enforce these new measures, the prefecture affirmed that checks would be carried out by the national gendarmerie.

15-44 year olds particularly affected, according to Public Health France

This decision was taken because of a "sharp deterioration in the hospital situation in Saint-Barthélemy," said the prefect.

"The positivity and incidence rates [are] always higher than the respective vigilance and alert thresholds testifying to a significant circulation of Sars-CoV-2, in a context of decreasing use of screening," wrote Santé Publique France in a bulletin published on Friday.

53 positive cases for Covid-19 were recorded between August 9 and 13.

According to the organization, the age group most affected in Saint-Barthélemy is that of 15-44 years.

As of August 12, 69.4% of the island's population aged 12 and over had received at least one dose of vaccine and 60.0% had received a full vaccination schedule, according to Public Health France.
