A visitor hides 2.6 kilograms of cocaine in secret pockets

The Dubai Criminal Court has started the trial of a 24-year-old visitor, who hid about 2.6 kilograms of cocaine in secret pockets in two travel bags, while entering the country through Dubai Airport, with the aim of delivering it to a person, for 3,500 dirhams, subjecting herself to a penalty of up to to 10 years imprisonment.

And an inspector of Dubai Customs stated in the investigations of the Public Prosecution, that she was at the head of her work, when the suspect's travel bags were suspected by the Internal Devices Department, so she was followed up and stopped, noting that she asked her if she wanted to disclose anything, and she replied in the negative.

Searching the first bag, a secret pocket was found near the handle, near the tires, and opening it found a cardboard envelope with carbon paper inside, and a plastic bag, inside was a white powder that had the characteristic appearance of cocaine.

She indicated that another quantity was found in two secret pockets in the second bag, and the accused admitted that a person in her country had asked her to deliver drugs to a man in the UAE, who would communicate with her through the “Social Media” application, stressing that she was aware of the presence of cocaine in her bags, and she did so in exchange for 50 thousand Brazilian real, equivalent to 3500 dirhams.
