The Crimean Platform summit, initiated by Ukraine, will be held in Kiev on 23 August.

It will discuss the issue of "returning" control over Crimea.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, 40 countries and international organizations have already confirmed their participation in the summit.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the Crimean Platform summit planned by the Ukrainian authorities a Sabbath.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents voted in favor of reunification with Russia.
