According to an investigation from Brå, the Swedish Crime Prevention Council, which the University of Malmö did for them, the model can be useful in several Swedish cities.

But in Linköping, it has not yet been decided whether Sluta skjut is something to invest in.

Hear more about this with the municipality's security manager, Anders Fernemark, in the video above.

- It is a big question mark about the effect.

We do other things.

We have a dialogue with other authorities.

With civilian, private resources, located in the areas.

But we must prioritize the areas we consider to be vulnerable and where we have created crime prevention groups, says Andes Fernemark, the municipality's security manager.

Action plan

- And these groups are not groups where we meet and drink coffee.

We have a causal analysis and based on those problems we decide on action and which administration is best suited.

We have an action plan here and now, but we are also looking ahead.

Fernemark describes how the municipality looks at the appearance of places and, for example, improves lighting and looks at vegetation to create greater security.

- We look at both physical and social efforts.

What can we do to take back the seats?

Why should we let ourselves be controlled?

Somewhere we have to step in and show that it is not acceptable.

And report and report what we see, for example to the police.

Area team

In Stop shooting, defector activities are important.

What do you think Linköping municipality could contribute there?

- We have a defector business.

We work to catch young people so that they do not end up wrong.

So they do not become professional criminals and then have to quit.

Without being able to postpone efforts early.

The head of security tells how they worked with a reorganization to get more people out in the areas affected by problems.

- We have to be in place out there, where it happens.

We will launch area teams in Ryd, Berga and Skäggetorp.

An adult presence of trained people who can point to doors that can be opened.

There may be opportunities that many of those who need support do not know about.

The police can not do everything themselves.

They do not have those resources.
