China News Service, Beijing, August 16th (Pang Wuji and Wang Xiwei) August 19 is about to usher in the Chinese Physician's Day.

According to the survey, the medical industry has continued to heat up in recent years, and medical-related majors are favored by candidates.

According to data released by the Max Research Institute on the 16th, the proportion of undergraduates entering the medical industry has increased by 0.8% in the past five years, and more than 90% (92%) of the 2020 medical undergraduates have achieved counterpart employment after graduation.

The continuous improvement of social living standards has made the medical industry more and more important, and the development of the industry has also increased the demand for college students.

According to Michaels data, in the past five years, the proportion of fresh undergraduates entering the medical and social nursing service industry has increased, with the rate of 5.9% in the 2020 class, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the 2016 class (5.1%).

Moreover, in the top 50 industries with the largest employment volume of undergraduate graduates, the "general hospital" has been ranked high in the past five years, with a ratio of 2.9% in the 2020 class, which is an increase of 0.7% compared with the 2016 class (2.2%).

Not only is the proportion of undergraduates in the medical industry increasing, but the proportion of medical-related occupations is also increasing.

A study by Michaels found that the proportion of undergraduates in the 2020 class of “medical care/emergency assistance” occupations is 5.0%, which is 0.8 percentage points higher than the 2016 class (4.2%).

In terms of income, the monthly income of the 2016 undergraduates engaged in “medical care/emergency assistance” occupation group is 3,838 yuan, which will increase to 4,925 yuan in the 2020 class, an increase of 1087 yuan in five years.

Medical graduates have a high proportion of professional counterpart employment.

The 2021 Employment Blue Book data released by Maxx shows that more than 90% (92%) of medical undergraduates in the 2020 medical category are engaged in professional-related work, reflecting the continuous improvement of professional training and job matching.

In terms of majors, among the top 12 majors in terms of work and major relevance for the 2020 undergraduates, medical majors occupies 10 seats.

Among them, medical imaging (98%), clinical medicine (97%), and stomatology (96%) ranked the top three.

In terms of job satisfaction, medical technology, nursing, and pharmacy majors have relatively high job satisfaction.

The 2020 undergraduate medical imaging (78%) and medical imaging technology (76%) majors exceeded the national undergraduate level (71%) by 7 and 5 percentage points, respectively.

Statistics show that the salaries of medical students with a bachelor's degree are generally not high at the beginning of their work.

The monthly income of the 2020 medical undergraduate graduates is 4960 yuan.

Among the five medical majors with a large number of graduates, nursing (5164 yuan) and pharmacy (5125 yuan) have relatively higher incomes.

Five years after graduating from a bachelor's degree, there will be a relatively greater increase in the income of medical students.

The income of the 2015 medical undergraduates five years after graduating (9236 yuan) increased by 167% from the six months after graduation (3462 yuan) in the same class.

Five years after graduating from clinical medicine majors, the income increase can reach 179%.

Michaels pointed out that as many key universities have opened medical schools in recent years, a large number of medical students have poured into the job market, and medical institutions have gradually increased their requirements for talents.

Postgraduate entrance examinations and postgraduate examinations have become a "single-plank bridge" for many medical students to walk through.

This means that students who choose to embark on the path of medicine need to be prepared for continuous study and research in the professional field.
