“Currently, the authorities of the republic are negotiating the return of refugees from Afghanistan with the official government of Afghanistan and representatives of the Taliban movement,” said spokesman for the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Yusup Kabulzhanov.
The negotiations are directly conducted by the diplomats of the embassy in Kabul and the consulate general in Mazar-i-Sharif, who are working as usual.
As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported earlier, on August 14, a group of servicemen of the Afghan Armed Forces in the amount of 84 people crossed the Uzbek border and asked for help for the wounded.
