Saudi Arabia receives the first trips for pilgrims abroad

Yesterday, Saturday evening, the Saudi authorities received the first flights of pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom for the first time in more than six months against the background of the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic.

The General Directorate of Passports announced the completion of all human and technical equipment to receive pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom and provide services to them, according to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA".

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had announced, earlier, the start of receiving Umrah requests from citizens and residents and from different countries of the world gradually, starting from last Monday, to perform the rituals of Umrah, visit and pray in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

In March 2020, Saudi Arabia suspended the performance of Umrah for more than six months due to the outbreak of the epidemic, before allowing it to resume according to specific conditions and for only a limited number of its residents.
