"In the morning on August 15, in an open area near the village of Baranovo, Sosnovsky District, the body of a 16-year-old girl with signs of violent death was found," the message says.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art.
105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Murder).
"As a result of well-planned investigative actions and operational-search measures, it was possible to identify and detain a suspect in the crime," added the Investigative Committee.
As specified, the suspect was a 22-year-old resident of the same village.
According to the investigation, on the night of August 15, the young people met near the village, between them "a conversation about relations took place."
“During the conversation, the attacker, out of jealousy, stabbed the girl with a knife in the region of the heart, from which she died at the scene,” the UK said.
Earlier, investigators opened a criminal case into the disappearance of two underage girls from a children's health camp in the Ryazan region.
