The colony area on Hertsön in Luleå offers creativity and cultivation joy.

On Colony Lot 52, Per Vedin is present and he welcomes all visitors.

- It is always so nice to see that the allotment is filled with people.

Colony Day is an opportunity for the public to come and see, how nicely everyone has done it, he says.

One who visited Kolonidagen for the first time was Benny Mattsson.

- Colony Day is absolutely fantastic.

All flower arrangements are great, he says.

The granddaughter Svea Björnfot was also happy with the day.

- I think all houses are so nice, she says.

"Close and lock when winter comes"

In addition to the fact that there were many beautiful gardens to view in the colony area, there were also farm and coffee sales.

Then local artists had exhibited their works of art for public viewing.

What's so great about a colony lot?

A allotment can be closed and locked when winter comes.

You do not have to fix the water and the drain, which you have to do if you own a cottage, says the allotment owner Per Vedin.

In the video you see beautiful flower arrangements and then you hear Per Vedin tell about Colony Day.
